Certex to distribute Demag

Certex UK has been appointed as a UK distributor for Demag Cranes and Components Ltd, (Overheads and hoists etc..…not Terex-Demag mobiles) taking over the accounts of 300 smaller Demag customers.

Under the agreement, Certex will take over the furnishing of Demag products and spare parts to around 300 smaller Demag customers.

Demag will continue to supply its cranes, hoists, handling technology systems, drives and spares to its key account customers, throughout the UK.

Charles Gillespie, Certex’s sales and marketing director, said: “Demag has a world-wide reputation for quality and reliability and we are delighted to be associated with its products. We also look forward to working with our new Demag customers, who can be assured of Certex’s renowned personalised service and competitive pricing strategies.”

In preparation for the appointment, all of the Certex sales team have already received full training and product familiarisation on the entire Demag range.

Certex also plans to utilise the recently launched Demag Shop, an internet-based information and order platform, giving Certex customers24 hour access to further information on Demag products and applications, as well as the ability to place orders via the Certex website.

Demag’s UK Sales Director, Tarik Alkhalil, said: “Certex’s long-standing reputation as a leading UK distributor of lifting gear was a major factor in our decision to enter into this partnership agreement. The company enjoys a reputation for its association with quality manufacturers and as such we are delighted to be included in their extensive product range”.

“The new trading arrangement will improve service to our UK customers, who will also benefit from the personalised approach of Certex’s regional sales and service network,” he added.

Demag products will be available through Certex immediately and access to Demag equipment for those customers whose accounts are being routed through Certex will take effect from July 2006.
