Tree worker dies testing platform

In Batvia, Ohio a tree worker for ABC Tree Service has died in an accident while testing the equipment, a utility type truck mounted lift, prior to going out on site.
The incident occured earlyyesterday morning.

Union Township Police Lt. Scott Gaviglia said Carlos Flores, 21, was in the basket at the end of the fully extended truck-mounted boom when it plummeted six metres (20 feet) to the ground around 6:30 a.m. Flores was declared dead at the scene.

Flores was wearing a harness but the fall casued critical injuries, his brother, who also works for ABC witnessed the accident. Osha is investigating the cause of the platform failure.
