Sims Crane adds to Orlando team
US rental company Sims Crane has appointed Richard ‘Rick’ DeCarlo as senior manager of business affairs at the companies Orlando, Florida office.
DeCarlo’s responsibilities include strengthening and growing existing customer relationships and developing new customer opportunities throughout the state of Florida.
DeCarlo joins the company from Duke Energy where he was lead corporate security coordinator. Prior to he held a similar role with Progress Energy from 2001 until leaving to join Duke in 2012.
Before moving in to the corporate security, he served as a special agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He also served as a lead special agent assigned to the governor’s protection detail and the U.S. Secret Service Multi-Agency Identity Fraud Task Force, having previously served in the U.S. Air Force.

Vice president of marketing Dean Sims said: “We are thrilled to have Rick spearheading new business development and client retention for us. His wealth of experience is a tremendous asset for Sims Crane.”
Sims Crane has also reported that revenues in 2016 were up 28 percent on 2015, and that the company he company added 35 new employees during the year, opened a new location and spent $37 million on new equipment including 32 new cranes. The company now has 12 offices, and more than 400 employees, including 159 crane operators, 53 apprentices, 20 transport drivers and 40 maintenance personnel.
