Janneniska and Jalo & Jalo form partnership

Finnish platform rental companies Jalo & Jalo and Janneniska have formed a partnership for the provision of truck mounted platforms.

Going forward Jalo & Jalo will focus on platforms over 3.5 tonnes and up to 80 metres, while Janneniska will provide 3.5 tonne truck mounts and van mounted lifts. Units over 80 metres will come from Janneniska' Bladefence subsidiary. The two companies will cross rent to each other in order to offer a full product line to each of their customers.

As a result of the agreement, Janneniska will transfer 16 mid-range Bronto platforms to Jalo & Jalo, which has also ordered two new 56 metre Bronto Skylift S56XR units. The company currently has 50 aerial work platforms in its fleet, most of which are Bronto.

The first S56XR – which offers an outreach of up to 40 metres – has been delivered, with the second due later this year. It will be the first of the updated models, which include a number of new features, including a stronger boom structure and 440 degrees of platform rotation.

Sami Jalo, head of platforms, said: "For us, the most important feature of equipment is not working height but good side outreach, which makes the equipment suitable for diverse uses. We are also more than satisfied with the maintenance services of Bronto Skylift. Cooperation with them is smooth and easy, and any problems are solved quickly and professionally."

80m+ models go to Bladefence

Prior to this news being confirmed, Janneniska had transferred its truck mounted lifts of 80 metres and above to Danish wind turbine blade specialist Bladefence, in which it has owned a 91 percent stake since January 2015. This takes the Bladefence fleet to seven units, six 90 metre machines and one 103 metre model.

Bladefence’s managing director Ville Karkkolainen, said: “In recent years, Janneniska’s tallest skylifts from 90 to 104 metres have been used almost exclusively in wind energy applications, and this move streamlines Bladefence’s operations and enables Bladefence to offer a wider variety of services to its wind energy clients as well as clients in other fields of industry requiring extreme height skylift access solutions.”
