New marketing director for JLG

JLG has appointed Tjitske van Hellemond as director of marketing for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

In her new role she will lead all marketing initiatives for the region, reporting directly to JLG regional general manager Karel Huijser, while serving on JLG’s global marketing leadership team.

Van Hellemond joins the company from Cat dealer Pon Equipment where most recently she was director of parts and service, prior to that she spent almost three years as general manager of Pon affiliate Sitech Netherlands, the Dutch branch of the international partner for Trimble construction technology systems.

Tjitske van Hellemond


van Hellemond began her career as a financial services consultant with Accenture, before joining Pon Equipment & Power Systems in 2008 as international business manager. In 2011 she was promoted to group technology manager for the Pon Equipment division, transferring to Sitech in 2013, and then moving into her most recent role at Pon in 2016. A civil engineer by education she joined JLG last month.

It is good to see new blood coming into the industry, especially someone with such a broad experience in the construction and technology markets. It is of course also good to see another female taking up a senior role, although the fact that this is still notable suggests we have a way to go before we can claim not to be a male dominated industry. Progress though is beginning to pick up pace and this can only be a good thing for the future.
