New MD for Wagenborg Nedlift
The Wagenborg group has appointed Gerard Bastiaansen as managing director of Wagenborg Nedlift, following the retirement of Ton Klijn after 14 years at the helm.
Bastiaansen joins the company from Mammoet where for the past five years he has worked as a project manager at its operations in Canada, Australia and New York.

He began his career as a dispatcher with Holleman, joining Mammoet in 1986 as an operations and commercial manager, after 18 years with the company he moved to Dutch crane rental company Saan as a depot manager for two years. He next step was to join Belgian international heavy lift company Sarens as operations manager. Four years later he formed his own company in the financial sector a role he combined with journalism, rejoining the crane and heavy lift business with his move to Mammoet in 2012.
Ton Klijn will continue to represent the company as a director of ESTA, the European crane and heavy transport association.
