Employees of TVH Americas have hosted their last ‘Blood Drive’ of the year in St Olathe and managed to donate more than double the target set with the American Red Cross, with the amount of donated having the potential to save over 222 lives.
Due to its overwhelming success, and the ongoing need for blood donations the company is planning to host three more blood drive events in Olathe and Grayslake during 2018.
Lucy DelSarto, health and wellness coach for TVH said: “Our blood drive has been a huge success and we are thrilled to have several first time donors join up to support this cause. It is evident that our employees feel good about helping out our community and realise the importance of saving lives through blood donation.”
The Red Cross needs 14,000 units of blood a day in order to meet the needs of patients at more than 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centres across the country. The recipients may be accident victims, cancer patients, surgical candidates, or children with blood disorders.
TVH operates from 14 locations in the Americas, providing spare parts and services for aerial lifts and material handling equipment.
