New MD for Riwal in Germany
Dutch international rental company Riwal has appointed Dietmar Müller as managing director/country manager of its new German operation Riwal Arbeitsbühnenvermietung, which combines Riwal Deutschland with AFI GmbH.
He joins the company from Gardemann, where he has been managing director for the past three years. The company – originally owned by Lavendon was acquired by TVH in June and has now been merged with Mateco. Prior to his time with Gardemann he was managing director of Munters, a provider of commercial air treatment solutions and held various management roles within the company between 1998 and 2015 in Europe, the USA and the Asia Pacific region.
He began his career in 1987 as product manager at Kleinewefers Energie und Umwelttechnik, and four years later became senior sales manager at the KEU Citex division. In 1995, he became department manager at Kraftanlagen Heidelberg, before moving to Munters three years later.

The move follows Riwal’s completion of the integration of German aerial work platform and telehandler rental company AFI, which it acquired in May 2017 -
see Riwal acquires AFI GmbH. The newly formed company brings Hamburg based AFI and Riwal Deutschland together under one roof, taking the number of Riwal branches in Germany from three to 11 with around 150 employees and a rental fleet of close to 2,000 machines.
