JLG launches Toucan Lite

JLG is launching its new lighter weight, Toucan Junior 8 ‘Lite’ at the upcoming SAIE show in Bologna later this month.

The new version of the Toucan Junior, has been designed, says the company, specifically to meet demands from the ‘entertainment and events’ industry.

Which requires a light, compact, self-propelled work-platform for operation in confined spaces, where speed of operation and reduced floor-loading are essential requirements. This is apparently fulfilling a trend in these applications away from powered push around lifts towards self propelled.

The Toucan Junior 8 'lite' to be launched at SAIE

The new model is based on the existing six metre platform height Toucan Junior 8, but features a 1.1 metre wide chassis, compared to 780mm on the standard unit. The benefit from the extra width is a marketing leading overall weight of only 770kg, spread over a slighter larger area. The 120kg lift capacity remains.

With its eight metre working height and compact overall length, the unit is also likely to prove popular with users who need to take their equipment in smaller elevators.
