New exec for Cargotec

Hiab and Kalmar owner Cargotec has appointed Carina Geber-Teir, 46, as senior vice president, communications.

She will officially join the company during September and be a member of Cargotec's executive board, reporting to chief executive Mika Vehviläinen. Her responsibilities will include leading the communications, investor relations and sustainability functions. She replaces Leena Lie who will leave the company in September to join rapidly growing food and drink packaging group Huhtamäki, as senior vice president marketing and communications.

Carina Geber-Teir

Geber-Teir joins Cargotec from OP Financial Group, where she has been chief communications officer since 2009. Before that she spent almost eight years with Varma Mutual Pension Insurance company mostly as communications director. Prior to that she was press officer at Finland’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.
