Able Equipment acquires Mobile Lifts
US based Able Equipment Rental has acquired the aerial work platform assets and service operations of Mobile Lifts, including its aerial lift facility in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
The branch will rebrand as a new Ale Equipment store and will retain most of the Mobile Lift employees, with plans to expand the team immediately. The Norristown facility is located on a two acre site roughly 45 minutes from Philadelphia and accessible to several major roads and highways.
Mobile Lifts was established in 1969 as a Mite-E-Lift scissor lift dealer and became a Genie hoist dealer later that year. The company’s rental fleet is still strongly Genie orientated. It has gone through a number of ownership changes over the years and now handles a range of other equipment such as tow trucks and tilt back trucks from Jerr Dan, from a location in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, which is not included.

The Norristown facility
The Norristown facility has become Able’s fifth location, all of them in the Northeast, and according to Able, ideal for servicing the King of Prussia and extended area. Able’s other locations include Edison and Pennsauken in New Jersey and Honey Brook Pennsylvania, as well as its headquarters in Deer Park, New York.
Able's chief executive Steven Laganas said: "We are extremely excited to welcome Mobile Lifts to the Able family. Their 40 plus year history along with a very loyal customer base was certainly one of the factors that helped us in our decision-making I look forward to partnering with Mobile Lifts' knowledgeable and talented team."
Chief operating officer Chris Pera added: "Strategically, it will allow us to continue to serve as a reliable provider of aerial equipment for Mobile Lifts' current commercial and industrial clients. Additionally, we will be able to offer a wide range of machines for rent and for sale to fulfil their specific construction equipment requirements."
