Ashtead appoints non executive director

Ashtead - owner of Sunbelt Rentals in North America and A-Plant in the UK - has appointed Angus Cockburn as non executive director and chairman of the audit committee.

Cockburn has been group chief financial officer of international outsourcing service provider Serco since October 2014. Prior to that he was chief financial officer and interim chief executive at Aggreko. He was also the senior independent director of GKN until April, and prior to that a non executive director of Howden Joinery.
