Kalmar’s new electric forklift
Kalmar has announced a range of high capacity lithium ion battery powered fork trucks.
The company is now offering lithium power on its ‘medium’ rage of forklifts, with a maximum lift height of five metres, and capacities from nine to 18 tonnes. The development is the latest step in its aim to have electric versions of every product in its portfolio by 2021. Kalmar has already launched electric powered versions of its empty container handlers, shuttle and straddle carriers and yard cranes. It is claimed that a full charge can be achieved on the new machines in less than two hours, while the battery technology allows opportunity charging, making them suitable for multi shift operation.
