Charity bike ride raises £450,000
Manitowoc UK’s James Leishman has completed the ‘Football to Amsterdam’ two day, 145 mile bike ride to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Leisham was part of a 14 man team that set off at 9:00 on Friday from Barnsley FC’s ground Oakwell in South Yorkshire. A total 105 riders - including two professional footballers Viv Anderson and Jon Parkin – departed from Barnsley, with a further 250 riders leaving from London. The participants had were confronted with torrential rain and 60mph winds on the trip which saw them cycle to Hull to catch the boat to the Hok of Holland and then on to Amsterdam. However between them they and have raised over £450,000 so far!

Preparing to set off
Leisham said: “I would like to say thank you to all the generous people in our industry for their donations to date which make up the majority of the £4,600 I have raised.”
