Crane drops bucket of concrete

Six people were injured in Pasig City, on the east side of Manila in the Philippines on Wednesday when a tower crane dropped a full bucket of concrete from a high rise tower.

The six were all construction workers, who were in the immediate area of where the bucket landed, narrowly missing a number of occupied cars. Their injuries are relatively minor and mostly caused by the concrete spray after the bucket hit the ground and virtually exploded, having fallen from the 24th floor of the building. Police are blaming the cause of the incident on a failed hoist rope.

Five cars were also damaged in the incident, following the incident construction on the tower was suspended. The video below was taken close to where the bucket landed. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
