Custom Equipment adds to sales team

US based manufacturer Custom Equipment has appointed Derek Koontz as mid-Atlantic territory manager for its Hy-Brid scissor lift range.

Koontz will cover the states of Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. He joins Custom Equipment from Teupen North America, where he has been north east key account manager since 2017. Prior to that he was territory manager at sales and rental company Synergy Equipment.

He began his career in 2008 in the North Carolina Army National Guard as heavy motor transport operator, also earning the rank of ammunition sergeant in his five years of service. In 2013 he was appointed as sales associate at United Rentals, before being promoted to inside sales representative that same year, and outside sales representative the following year. In 2016 he was appointed store manager at Hall Hardware, before moving to Synergy Equipment a year later.
