Magna adds to sales team

Magna Tyres has appointed Hendri Swanepoel as sales manager for South Africa.

Based in Midrand, outside of Johannesburg, Swanepoel will be responsible for expanding Magna’s presence in the country, developing new and existing customer relationships within the region.

Swanepoel joins from tyre, rim and wheel manufacturer TRW Australia, where he has been business development director for the past four years, as well as an advisor to TRW’s businesses in south east Asia.

He has spent most of his career in the off road tyre and rim industry having started out in 2000 as a sales engineer with the tyre and rim division of South Africa’s Guestro. In 2003 he moved to Trentyre as general manager before being appointed as sales director at Bandenmarkt in 2005, three years later he joined Allcon in a similar position and then in late 2012 moved to Iraq as a liaison/consultant with Aegis. A couple of years later he joined TRW, initially in Jakarta, Indonesia, transferring to Perth, Australia in 2016.
