Enrique Peralta 1931-2014

We have received the sad news that Enrique Peralta, the founder of Spanish crane distributor Mopsa has died, he was 82.

Peralta established Mopsa (Maquinaria de Obras Públicas SA) in 1961, initially as a distributor for road machinery but took on the Grove crane account in 1970 and became one of its most successful dealers, adding the Grove Manlift line in 1979, followed by spider cranes and CTE truck mounted and spider lifts.

Enrique Peralta on the Grove stand at Conexpo

Peralta was the driving force behind the business always very active we last saw him at Conexpo earlier this year where he was as interested as ever in seeking out new products and looking at the latest deliveries.
He was always polite, friendly and clearly on top of his game. He was a leading figure in the Spanish crane and access industry right to the very end and a true character. The crane industry has lost one of its leading lights.
