US launch for Manitou MLT 420

Manitou has launched the 2,000kg/4.3 metre MLT 420 telehandler in North America.

The MLT 420 is Manitou’s most compact model with an overall width of 1.49 metre, and overall height of 1.9 metres and an overall length of 3.63 metres. Maximum forward reach is 2.65 metres at which it can handle 900kg. Total weight is 4,260kg, while power comes from a Stage V Kubota which offers travel speed of 15.5mph.

In spite of its size, the MLT 420 has a full size operators cab with full 360 degree visibility. The JSM (Joystick, Switch and Move) joystick includes direction and gear change function for the two speed hydrostatic transmission, while also allowing the operator to control all hydraulic functions with one hand, so the other hand can remain on the steering wheel at all times.

Standard features also include an auto reversing fan, which makes it ideal for working in dusty environments, and Manitou’s Easy Connect system for quick change over of a wide selection of hydraulic attachments.

The product has been available in Canada since last year, but it is now being produced for the USA.
