US based crane, telehandler and aerial lift sales and rental company H&E Equipment Services has appointed John McDowell Engquist as president and chief operating officer.
Son of executive chairman John Engquist, he joined the company in 2002 as a sales representative, was promoted to branch manager of the company’s Springdale depot in 2006, and then the key Baton Rouge branch a year later. He was appointed as a senior regional vice president in 2016 and executive vice president in 2018. The position was previously held by Bradley Barber from 2012 until he took over from John Engquist as chief executive in 2018 - see: New CEO for H&E.
Barber said: “John’s appointment recognises his exemplary performance throughout his career with H&E. His operational expertise, valued insight and strong leadership qualities have been instrumental in leading our operations in various capacities for more than a decade. We look forward to his future contributions in this expanded role as we seek to maximise our operating performance in today’s challenging environment and beyond, as well as capitalize on strategic growth opportunities through branch expansion and acquisitions.”
