Ernst began his career in 1994 as an apprentice with IHS Industrieprodukte Handels-und Service, which is now a division of Sennebogen. Just over two years later he moved to Sennebogen as an area sales manager based at the company headquarters in Straubing, Germany. Then at the start of 2006 he was transferred the US to take up the position of regional sales and marketing manager for Sennebogen’s American business in North Carolina. In mid-2018 he was recruited as president of Steinert USA.

Marco Gentilini of Terex Cranes said: “I am very pleased that Andreas Ernst has joined Terex Cranes as general manager for Americas, bringing his experience in leading successful teams with a strong customer focus. This represents another meaningful step forward in our strategy of investing in our Tower and Rough Terrain Cranes businesses with a specific focus on the American market.”

Ernst added: “I am excited to join Terex Cranes Americas, a company that embodies my core values - putting the customer first, always keeping your word and supporting passion, diversity and real innovation. Together with the impressing support team in Wilmington, North Carolina and other Terex locations we are continuing to develop an increased focus on individual needs of specific industry sectors within the crane market segment. It’s a large adventure which will require a lot of investment and resources, which Terex has proven they are willing to put forward.”
