Nigerian contractor Bulet International Nigeria has taken delivery of a new 90 tonne Liebherr LRT 1090-2.1 Rough Terrain crane - the first LRT model to arrive in the country.

The two axle LRT 1090-2.1 features a 47 metre main boom and a 10.5 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 40 degrees of offset. It comes standard with the Liebherr VarioBase automatically variable outrigger base and wider tilting cab.

The new crane hand over

Bulet chief executive Aliyu Isa said: “The new Liebherr crane will help us pursue our growth policy. At the same time, it will enhance safety on our sites. We needed a crane for our workforce which is safe and easy to operate and provides very good visibility from the crane cabin. Furthermore, the VarioBase makes us more flexible on site, enabling us to complete hoists safely in constricted areas.”

“We hope that after the pandemic, we will be able to convert our fleet of mobile cranes to Liebherr Rough Terrain cranes. We also just started a new project involving two Liebherr NC-B 6-62 tower cranes and we also hope to add to their number. In addition, we have 10 Liebherr concrete mixers and an outstanding purchase order for 12 additional mixers, 10 Liebherr excavators and five Liebherr wheel loaders. We are familiar with the company’s quality and the first class after sales service. That whole package made the decision to buy a new Liebherr Rough Terrain crane an easy one.”
