Italian crane rental and haulage company Vernazza Autogru has taken delivery of one of the first 250 tonne Grove GMK5250XL-1 All Terrain crane in the country.
The five axle GMK5250XL features an eight section 78.5 metre main boom topped by an 18 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that can be extended to 34 metres with additional inserts. Features include the company’s MAXbase variable outrigger setup, Megatrak suspension with all wheel steering and twin lock boom pinning system.
General manager Diego Vernazza, said: “We were immediately attracted by the GMK5250XL-1. A 250 tonne capacity telescopic mobile crane with a 78.5 metre boom presents an extraordinary resource for us. We can rely on the compactness of a five axle carrier paired with the typical boom length of a six axle crane, enabling us to complete a broader range of jobs. And we were not the only ones to be excited by this new model. Many of our specialized customers wanted to book the GMK5250XL-1 for their projects before the crane had even been delivered.”
Established in 1946, Vernazza Autogru has a fleet of more than 200 cranes, aerial lifts, forklifts and delivery vehicles from its locations in Genoa, Milan, Savona and Massa.
