Crane overturn in NY
A truck crane/boom truck overturned while setting steel in the Queens area of New York on Friday.
The crane, a large five axle Manitex, owned by Classic Steel Fabricators & Erectors, had its five section main boom fully extended and was in the process of installing a steel column on the rear of the new building - a new nine storey mixed used tower block - when it went over.

The crane appears to have been overloaded as the outriggers were fully extended with decent mats and cribbing. The operator was able to climb down from the cab and was apparently unhurt, while no one on site was touched. Damage to the structure and the adjacent building was minor.
Two All Terrain cranes from G & C Crane Service were called into recover the stricken crane. New York Department of Buildings and OSHA are investigating.
The two videos below show a good deal more detail of the incident.
