Kiloutou Deutschland transport investment
Kiloutou Germany is making a major investment in its transport fleet, ordering 16 of the latest Meusburger semi-trailers with fold down rear decks and telescopic ramps. Eight have been delivered, with a further eight due for delivery in the spring along with six rigid trucks with custom equipment bodies from the same manufacturer. The company has also ordered new Daf tractor units to go with the trailers.

The investment is part of a fresh look the rental company is taking towards deliveries, as it looks to improve its services for customers in harder to reach locations, including urban sites with tough traffic restrictions and rural sites with narrow winding roads and tight access tracks.
The new three axle trailers have folding rear platforms, which can be raised to provide a shorter manoeuvrable trailer, or left in the horizontal position, where the folding section still has a safe load capacity of up to 10 tonnes. A telescopic extensions complete the loading ramp. In this format the break-over point onto the main deck is minimal but it can be eliminated by raising the ramp once the machine is on the deck. Meusburger is based in Switzerland, with a second production subsidiary in Russia.
