New CEO for Verton

Australian based load handling technology company Verton Technologies has promoted Tim Ekert to chief executive, replacing Trevor Bourne, who remains involved as a director.

Ekert joined the company in June as global sales and distribution manager, but has also been acting as chief executive designate as part of a succession plan to replace Bourne. Prior to joining Verton, Ekert was chief executive of SmartCap Technologies for three and a half years. He began his career as a design and product development engineer with companies such as Lextar, EGR and ECL Services before becoming engineering manager for Global Engineering System in 2004 the following year he moved to Principle Industries as operations manager.

In 2006, he joined Austin Engineering as general manager, becoming executive general manager for eastern Australia in 2012, taking responsibility of market development and innovation in 2016, before joining SmartCap in 2017.

Verton's load orientation system uses gyroscopes to eliminate tag lines

Bourne added: “Over the past year, Tim’s contribution to the business has seen growth in our internal capability and global customer base. His knowledge and experience will drive the company’s growth and international expansion strategies.”
