Strong Bauma for Unic

Unic Cranes Europe says that Bauma 2007 was by far the best exhibition it has ever attended in at least in terms of orders. In total it received orders on the stand for 39 cranes, more than double the number sold during any previous exhibition.

The orders included nine orders for the new six tonne capacity URW-706, which made its worldwide debut at the show. Eleven cranes were sold to German customers including an order from Stuttgart based Wiesbauer whose name was on the Grove GTK1100 other local buyers included Seeland and Mayer.

Thomas Wiesbauer was proud to say that his rental fleet could now boast the biggest and smallest cranes on display at Bauma. (There might be some debate over the biggest crane at the show... but we know what he means: ed).
The custom painted ‘Spiderman’ URW295 crane was sold to a Spanish customer, who is a keen Spiderman fan, orders for five other units came from Spanish buyers. No mention has been made of what happened to a custom painted black widow spider crane.

The UK accounted for five sales with up and coming min crane specialist John Taylor Cranes ordering two units and Cumbria-based boat builder MP Marine, not a typical Bauma visitor, ordering a URW-295...
Graeme Riley, CEO of Unic Cranes Europe, said: “We had a fantastic week. everything on the stand ran smoothly, all our dealers and staff worked well together and most importantly of all, our visitors seemed to enjoy themselves. There was an outstanding response to the 706 and there looks to be a real market for it among users needing a little more lifting height and power while still being able to get close to the job. Bauma is justifiably the industry’s most important event and it seems to get better every time.”
