Another LTM 1120-4.1 for City

UK based crane rental company City Lifting has taken delivery of a second 120 tonne Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 having taken the first one to arrive in the UK, this time last year.

The four axle crane features a seven section 66 metre main boom and has been ordered with the 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with hydraulic luffing to an offset of up to 40 degrees. An additional seven metre insert takes the maximum tip height to more than 94 metres, while the maximum radius is 64 metres.

The new crane is powered by a Stage V diesel and includes radio remote controls, Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger set-up system and VarioBallast variable counterweight.

City Lifting’s owner Trevor Jepson said: “The LTM 1120 is ideal for working in urban areas with its VarioBase outriggers and the smaller counterweight radius of the VarioBallast system. The long boom is very quick to set up and offers good capacities. In the UK we can travel with 20 tonnes of counterweight on board giving reasonable duties, while the remaining 11 tonnes can be carried on a three axle truck when required. We specified the hydraulically off settable extension for extra outreach over buildings but retaining the ability to lift close in at ground level.”

Based in Essex on the East side of London, City Lifting runs a fleet of more than 70 mobile cranes and 160 tower cranes.
