35th Liebherr for Bernard Hunter

Scottish rental company Bernard Hunter has taken delivery of its 35th Liebherr crane since it purchased its first unit 27 years ago. The range of Liebherr cranes in the Bernard Hunter fleet includes the Edinburgh company’s 700 tonne flagship.

The new arrival is a 110 tonne LTM1110-5.1, the five axle All Terrain boasting a seven section 60 metre main boom topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold lattice swingaway extension. Two seven metre lattice extensions can be added to offer a maximum tip height of almost 96 metres. It also features a Stage V engine plus Liebherr’s Eco mode and can travel with all 29 tonnes of counterweight within 16 tonne axle loads. Other features include Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger set up system and remote control for all the superstructure functions.

The new LTM110-5.1 handover

Managing director Mark Rafferty said: “It’s a pleasure to bring the new 110 tonner into our fleet. The crane offers our clients excellent capacity on the five axle carrier range. Without the need for additional counterweight the crane brings many environmental benefits with the removal of additional support vehicles on the road. This greatly helps Bernard Hunter reduce our carbon footprint and work towards a net zero carbon future.”
