New GM for Crane Works

Texas based sales and rental company, CraneWorks, has appointed Eric Rhodes as the general manager of its Houston headquarters and Dallas Fort Worth field office.

In his new role, Rhodes will oversee the service, replacement parts, and fabrication departments across the state of Texas. He will also be responsible for streamlining internal processes while mentoring employees.

He began his career in 1994 as an electrician with Freeman Electric, graduating to master electrician and foreman, before leaving after nine years to work as a supervisor with KBR in Houston with some time spent in the Middle East. In 2005 he moved to a service managers job at Stewart & Stevenson after five and a half years with the company, he joined Cameron - now owned by Schlumberger - as a service supervisor. At the end of 2011 he left for Komatsu dealer Waukesha-Pearce Industries, initially as a branch manager, moving up to regional operations manager and then sales manager.
Speaking of his new job, Rhodes said: “On the surface, my job as a general manager at CraneWorks is to increase productivity and streamline processes in Houston and Dallas. But what I’m really excited about is the way we’re going to do that. Every day my employees come to work and get the chance
to learn something new is a good day. I like bringing out the best in people.”

Chief executive Keith Ayers added: “Eric impressed us right away with his attitude toward leadership. He brings a unique, motivational leadership style to CraneWorks that’s born of a sincere desire to elevate those around him. With a few dozen direct and indirect
reports, we’re excited to see what the teams accomplish under his guidance.“

Houston based CraneWorks was established in 2002 to provide new and used equipment, including cranes, aerial work platforms and telehandlers, along with parts and service. It works with a wide range of manufacturers, including: JLG, Tadano, Cormach, Fassi, IMT, Auto Crane, Gehl, Manitou, Palfinger, National Crane, Manitex and Versalift. It also runs a rental fleet with a wide range of equipment including crawler and Rough Terrain cranes, aerial work platforms, boom trucks and loader cranes, from branches in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and Midland/Odessa, in Texas, New Jersey, Orlando, Florida and San Diego, California.
