The Bronto S35EM Hybrid

The Hybrid Pack utilises a lithium ion battery and electric motor, driving the hydraulic pump. The battery is said to be sufficient to power the machine for a typical full working day. However, if the battery is low, the lift can still be operated as usual via the chassis engine PTO driven pump.

The details provided are minimal as the pack is still at the prototype stage, with the company looking for customer input at the show. Once the pack reaches the production stage it will be rolled out across the range. It also plans to offer retrofit kits for existing machines where possible.

Product manager Arne Denks said: ”You could say we have made our first hybrid aerial work platform already in 2010 when we delivered a tailor-made solution with lead batteries to a customer in Sweden. After validation by our customer base and possible further co-development with some of them, the concept will be expanded to suit other Bronto models.”

Sales & marketing director Roberto Quintero added: “We have always done product development together with our customer base and will continue on this path with the electrification too. The Hybrid Pack concept is in development phase, and we invite everyone to develop it further with us.”
