Fall proves fatal

We can now confirm that a man has died after falling from the platform of an elevated spider lift in York, UK last month. We have still been unable to discover what exactly happened, and whether the man actually fell from the platform, or the platform overturned.

The incident occurred on November 1st when Jonathan Morris - Jonathan Alan James Morris – to give him his full name - sustained serious head injuries from the fall which occurred while he was working at the Chocolate Works development in the city. He died in hospital on November 6th as a result of the injuries he sustained, he was only 34.

The inquest into his death opened earlier this month, while North Yorkshire Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive. The HSE is not releasing any details of what occurred, on the basis that it may well take legal action following its investigation.

We will of course update this time when the full facts are known.
