UK based rental company Star Platforms has appointed Michelle Timms as group financial controller.
The company says that the move is a key step in strengthening its senior leadership team, in her new role she will oversee the financial operations of both Star Platforms and sister company Star Power.

She joins the company after 13 years with Nationwide Platforms – part of the Loxam group where she was UK commercial director. She joined the company at the start of 2012 as financial accounts with the Lavendon group, the parent company at that time. She move to Nationwide platforms in 2015 and has move up through a series of commercial and financial roles and was appointed commercial director in 2023.
Managing director said: “We’re delighted to welcome Michelle, who is a well known and popular figure in the powered access community. As group financial controller, she will be responsible for the finances of both Star Platforms and Star Power. We’re looking forward to drawing on her wealth of experience and commercial acumen to help us identify efficiencies and opportunities across the business. Michelle brings a lot more than just financial expertise, she has a strong strategic mindset and a deep understanding of our industry, which will be invaluable as we continue to grow.”
Speaking of her new appointment, Timms added: “I’m excited to be joining the team at such a dynamic time for both Star Platforms and Star Power.
