Texas First Rental takes Rental One

Cat Rental Store Texas First Rentals has acquired general rental company Rental One which operates from 15 locations in central Texas.

Rental One offers a wide range of equipment and tools but has a significant aerial lift and telehandler fleet. Its 300 employees and management team will remain with the company which will continue to operate under its own brand. The acquisition will take the Texas First Rentals branch network to 40 locations.

Rental One president Mike O’Neal said: “Our team has worked to build a successful business with meaningful relationships that span three generations. Our customers will benefit from a broader range of products and combined expertise as we join the Texas First Rentals team. We continue to be committed to providing customers with the best equipment and reliable service they have grown to know.”

Texas First Rental is owned by Cat dealer Holt, chief executive Peter Holt added: “Rental One is an excellent strategic and cultural fit that complements our existing products and services. More importantly, Rental One is a multi-generational, family-owned Texas company. As a family owned business ourselves, we know the value of such an organisation and what that means to our customers.”

Rental One was founded by Tommie and Ray O’Neal in the 1950s as A-1 Rental in Colleyville, Texas, adopting the Rental One name and branding in 2004. Today the company is managed by Mike O’Neal the third generation of the O’Neal family to run the business.
