Ashtead appoints new Non Exec

Ashtead, owner of A-Plant in the UK and Sunbelt in the USA, has appointed Bruce Edwards, 51, as a new non-executive director.

Edwards ‘day job’ is the global chief executive officer for Exel Supply
Chain now part of Deutsche Post. He was part of the management team that sold the business to Deutsche Post in September 2005. He benefited, along with most other key executives from a substantial payout when the sale went through later that year.

His role until then had been chief executive of its Americas businesses.

Edwards has also been a non-executive director of Greif Inc, a listed packaging and container manufacturer since February 2006.

He is an American citizen and lives in Columbus, Ohio.
