New shareholder for Sarens

Belgian entrepreneur Luc Tack has acquired a 22 percent stake in Belgian international crane, heavy lift and transport company Sarens though his water treatment company Begoos, which also acts as his family office. The stake was previously owned by private equity firm Waterland Private Equity Investments.

Sarens played a role in finding a new buyer for the holding. A competitive bidding process was organised, targeting both financial investors with a long term investment horizon and strategic investors with the capacity to support the Sarens group in its future development. Luc Tack and Aaron Coone of Begoos will play an active role on the Sarens board.

Begoos operates eight plants in the Benelux region and works mainly in Europe.
A statement from Sarens said: “We are looking forward to our cooperation in the coming years to see the Group continue its successful path. We also would like to thank Waterland for their hands-on contribution and added value in the past years, and we cherish the growth we enjoyed together.”

Last Year Sarens generated revenues of more than €600 million with an EBITDA of €157 million.
