Grove double for Galfar Al Misnad

Qatari contractor Galfar Al Misnad has purchased two new 100 tonne Grove GMK4100L-2 All Terrain cranes.

The four axle GMK4100L-2 features a seven section 60 metre main boom and can be topped with a 9.7 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, with additional eight metre inserts available for a maximum tip height of 89 metres. The cranes were purchased through Mannai Trading, the local Gove Distributor.

The handover in Wilhelmshaven


The first unit was formally handed over at the Manitowoc/Grove plant in Wilhelmshaven, Germany and then shipped to Galfar Al Misnad’s new facility and equipment workshop in Doha, Qatar, before heading out on its first project at Ras Laffan, assisting in the construction of a gas pipeline as part of the local North Field Expansion Project. The second GMK4100L-2 will go to work on the same project once it reaches Qatar.
