First LTM 1230-5.1 for Brazil

Brazilian rental company Guindastes Centro Oeste has taken delivery of the first 230 tonne Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 to arrive in Brazil.

The five axle crane is equipped with an eight section, 75 metre main boom which can be topped by an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that can be offset by up to 40 degrees. Up to three, seven metre inserts can also be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a maximum tip height of 113 metres (with main boom at 68 metres).

The new crane also includes Vario Ballast variable counterweight, Vario Base Plus outrigger set up and monitoring and remote control of crane operations.

The handover


The company has also ordered a 300 tonne, six axle LTM 1300-6.2 which is due to arrive later this summer.

Guindastes Centro Oeste’s owner Diego Scopel said: “The LTM 1230-5.1 will be deployed on a range of projects in steel, paper and pulp plants and projects that require high capacities in tight spaces.”

With a fleet of 65 cranes, Guindastes Centro Oeste specialises in crane rental services for the steel, port, petrochemical and pulp industries located in Serra, in the state of Espírito Santo.
