Lou-Tec takes MKS Equipments

Canadian rental company Lou-Tec has acquired aerial lift rental company MKS Équipements from Marco Simard.
MKS is based in Jonquière, north of Quebec City, and covers the entire Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean region, thus taking Lou-Tec into new territory. It was established in 2016 and its fleet includes boom lifts, scissors, spider lifts, telehandlers and forklifts.

The MKS location will continue to trade as MKS Équipements with the current employees and management under the leadership of MKS president Marco Simard, who also becomes a regional sales manager for Lou-Tec. The plan is to gradually transition to Lou-Tec Elevation.

Lou-Tec chief executive Jean-Marc Dallaire said: “We are pleased to welcome the MKS Équipements team to Lou-Tec. Our two companies share the same vision to offer personalised customer service and a desire for continuous improvement. We have already had the opportunity to collaborate on many occasions for requests from our customers in that sector. This association will be advantageous, enabling us to serve our customers more effectively, helping them carry out projects on construction sites in this booming region.”

Lou-Tec was established in 1979 and has been expanding over the past year or two. This is the company’s third acquisition in 12 months See another acquisition for Lou-Tec taking its branch network to 28 outlets across Québec and Ontario.

The company’s growth plans are supported by Sagard Private Equity Canada, Walter Capital Partners, Investissement Québec, BDC Capital’s Growth Equity Partners and the Fonds de solidarité FTQ.
