UK rental company Spence Crane Hire has celebrated its 40th anniversary with the delivery of a new Liebherr 150 tonne LTM 1150-5.3.
The five axle crane is equipped with a 66 metre, seven section main boom along with the 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that offsets hydraulically by up to 40 degrees. A seven metre insert can be added between the boom nose and extension to take the maximum tip height to almost 95 metres and maximum radius to 72 metres. The crane also features Liebherr’s VarioBase variable outrigger set up and monitoring system.
Director John Spence said: “To celebrate 40 years since Spence Crane Hire was established, we are happy to add the LTM 1150-5.3 to our fleet. The LTM 1150-5.3 has replaced the Grove GMK 5150L as the largest crane in our company.”
Based in Newton Abbot, Devon, Spence Crane Hire has been operating since 1983 and now runs a fleet that includes cranes ranging from eight to 150 tonnes along with loader cranes, spider cranes and mini crawler cranes. It claims to cover an area that includes Devon and Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol and Wiltshire.
