Kiloutou acquires Uka+Hauke

French international rental group Kiloutou has acquired German access and telehandler rental company Uka+Hauke Arbeitsbühnen, from owners Helen und Ralf Uka.

The company is based in Sömmerda - North east of Erfurt - and opened its doors in 1992 with a fleet of three trailer lifts. Since then, it has grown steadily, adding a fleet of truck mounted lifts, spider lifts, boom lifts and scissor lifts, available from four locations with depots in Gotha, Chemnitz and Dresden, enabling it to cover most of Saxony and Thuringia. In 2012 it expanded into telehandlers and the fleet now includes both fixed frame and 360 degree models. The combined fleet totals 275 machines with 20 employees.

The acquisition takes the Kiloutou network in Germany to 18 locations, and substantially strengthens its coverage in the two states.

Kiloutou chief executive Olivier Colleau said: “This acquisition is fully in line with our development strategy in Germany, which aims at strengthening our presence in high-potential regions and expanding our network nationally. It also illustrates our ability to federate high calibre regional players with a strong local presence, around our development project. With this approach, we plan to be present in the most important markets in Germany through selected acquisitions and targeted branch openings. I would like to warmly welcome the team members of Uka+Hauke Arbeitsbühnen to the Kiloutou group.

Helen und Ralf Uka added: “We are delighted about the acquisition of our rental company by Kiloutou. This will allow our team to continue to develop and expand our market share, which has grown steadily over the last 30 years. Due to a similar philosophy and new synergies, we personally believe in the development project of Kiloutou and are pleased that our employees and customers will benefit from the entrepreneurial expertise, new investments and a wider range of aerial work platforms
