CraneWorks distributes Tadano

Tadano America has appointed sales and rental company CraneWorks as an authorised dealer for its All Terrain, Rough Terrain and telescopic crawler cranes in the state of Alabama.

Based in Birmingham, Alabama, CraneWorks runs a fleet of cranes ranging from two to 500 tonnes, while offering rigging, machinery moving, specialty hauling and equipment storage services.

CraneWorks president Kenny Bishop said: “We are super excited to partner with such an excellent team. We have been renting and servicing cranes for over 30 years, so becoming a distributor for the number one brand is a natural fit for us to better serve our customers."

Tadano’s regional business manager Todd Elkins added: “We are so excited to work with Kenny and the CraneWorks team to assist them with new equipment purchases, service and parts. This expansion in the Tadano distributor network will be a benefit for existing and new customers in Alabama. CraneWorks has an impressive customer base and track record across the state, and this partnership will help grow both of our businesses.”

CraneWorks can trace its roots back to 1987, when David Upton purchased a small fleet of used equipment and set up Reliable Rentals to meet a growing demand for equipment and crane rental in and around Birmingham. He was joined a few years later by his brother, Steve Upton, with the two successfully working together to grow Reliable Rentals into a leading regional equipment and crane rental company.

In 1998, the general equipment element of the business was sold off, in order for the two to focus on crane rental under the CraneWorks brand. Sometime later the company established the RentalWorks division and got back into general equipment rental again. The company now has branches in Mobile and Decatur, Alabama as well as Nashville, Tennessee.
