New JLG European parts distribution centre

JLG is planning a new European parts distribution centre next to its existing production facility in Maasmechelen, Belgium.

Announcing the new facility, JLG’s senior vice-president of manufacturing and global supply chain, Peter Bonafede, said, “As our European customer base grows, and we continue to forecast sales increases in Europe, we recognise there will be a growing need for additional space to support parts distribution."

“We have therefore decided to build a new 4,000 square metre European Parts Distribution Centre in the same industrial park as our manufacturing facility in Maasmechelen that will accommodate the growth projections in parts sales anticipated over the next five years in Europe.”

JLG’s distribution manager Erik Goeleven will continue to be responsible for parts distribution operations.

The factory space previously occupied by service parts will be released to provide additional manufacturing assembly capacity.

Construction of the new parts distribution warehouse is scheduled for completion later this year, and it will be fully operational by January 2008.
