Irish rental company Crane Hire has taken delivery of two six tonne Liebherr MK 73-3.1 mobile self-erecting tower cranes.
The three axle MK 73-3.1 can handle the six tonnes at a 12 metre radius, while the maximum radius is 38.5 metres with a jib tip capacity of two tonnes at a height of 26.5 metres. With the jib luffed to 45 degrees above horizontal the crane has a hook height of 51 metres with a capacity of 1,850kg at a radius of 26.5 metres. The MK 73 runs on HVO fuel for the carrier, while the superstructure is electric powered from a mains AC outlet or via a small onboard generator.
The handover occurred during a crane operator training course at Liebherr’s Biberach facility. They will join two Liebherr MK 140 in the Crane Hire fleet.
Founded in 1967 Crane Hire operates from locations in Dublin and Cork, and runs a fleet of All Terrains up to 800 tonnes, Rough Terrains to 100 tonnes, a city crane, spider crane and the Self-erecting mobiles.
