16 JLGs for NEOM

Saudi Arabia’s NEOM Media has purchased 16 JLG battery electric platforms, they include four 60ft EC600SJ telescopic boom lifts, four 26 metre X26JP spider lifts, four 40ft ERT4069 compact Rough Terrain scissor lifts and four 45ft E450AJ articulated boom lifts.

The units will be used at Neom’s locations in Sharma Village on the Red Sea and Bajdah Desert Studios in Tabuk province in Saudi’s North West. Together they make up the largest sound stages and film production support facilities in the country and the region. The units were sold and delivered by JLG’s distributor for Saudi Arabia, Cat rental store – Ejar.

The lifts are Neom Media’s first aerial work platforms, the company says it selected the JLG equipment because of its quality and Ejar’s reputation. It also included maintenance contracts, and training for operators and service engineers.

EJAR general manager Khaled Kamal said: “We recognised the vital role of skilled operators and provided comprehensive support and tailored training to ensure the seamless integration of these battery powered units into Neom Media’s workflow, it marks a significant stride towards sustainable innovation. This milestone delivery showcases our commitment to excellence and underscores our dedication to zero emissions.”
Mohamad Lakis of JLG added: “The delivery to the renowned Neom development represents a strategic win for JLG and includes the newly launched electric Rough Terrain scissors.”

The Neom company is developing four regional resort areas in Saudi Arabia, Marine landscapes in the Red Sea, Lower desert, Mountain and Upper valley.
The Neom name is derived from the ancient Greek prefix of neo – or new, while the M comes from Mustaqbal, an Arabic word meaning future. $500 billion is being invested in the Neom project, by Saudi Arbia’s Public Investment Fund along with local and international investors.
