Grove GRT8100 for PT Vector

The Indonesia’s PT Vector Indonesia has taken delivery of a 100 tonne GRT8100 Grove Rough Terrain crane. The new crane was purchased through the Grove dealer Cranserco and is the company’s second Grove crane.

The crane features a five section 47 metre main boom and a 10.1 to 17.1 metre bi-fold swingaway extension offering up to 40 degrees of offset. An additional 6.1 metre insert takes its maximum tip height to 73 metres. Features include a Cummins power unit with ECO mode and Grove’s Crane Control System.

The new Rough Terrain was delivered to the Batu Hijau opencast copper-gold mine on the island of Sumbawa, where it is being used for structural steel erection and site maintenance, working alongside PT Vector’s 250 tonne GMK5250L-1 All Terrain.

Matt Peeler of PT Vector Utama with the new GRT8100

Director Matt Peeler said: “This is the second time we have commissioned a Grove crane, and we are very impressed with the GRT8100’s ease of operation and features. We’ve already been using our GMK5250L-1 to do heavy lifts on the jobsite, and the GRT8100 is an excellent choice for smaller lifts and mobilising counterweights for the GMK5250L-1. The GRT8100 was the perfect fit for us in terms of capacity and all round capabilities, and we know we can rely on it to deliver.”

PT Vector Indonesia is part of Canadian pre-cast concrete corrosion protection company Vector Corrosion Technologies and has been operating in Indonesia since 2010.
