Herc Rentals has acquired California based rental company Summit Equipment Rentals. The deal was struck at the end of September so will contribute to Herc’s results in the fourth quarter.
Established in March 2007 by Bob Kushner the company runs a fleet of aerial lifts, including slab electric and Rough Terrain scissor lifts, push around portables and boom lifts to 86ft It also runs forklifts and telehandlers. As well as general equipment, operating from three locations in California, Menifee and Santa Ana in the greater Los Angeles conurbation and Chula Vista on the south side of San Diego.
Speaking of the sale the employees put out a statement that said: "Specialising in friendly customer service, is the motto that Bob Kushner believed in, and that we practiced everyday building this company. ‘The People’ are the business, you can get the same equipment at any rental yard but what set Summit apart was ‘The People’. The vision and the common directive to provide a personal experience with each customer at each interaction, with a true sense of urgency and belied in being fair, was, and is, instilled in each and every one of us that built Summit, and is what we always tried to convey to our customers.”
