The Italian Army has taken delivery of 20 units of Easy Lift’s 18 metre R180 tracked spider lifts and one 13 metre R130.
The 20 R180s have been customised to meet the Army's specific requirements in terms of working height, 360 degree slew and Scanreco wired controls with a simplified interface display showing information on the use and safety parameters and an anti-crushing device which consists of twin radars mounted under the basket. The units also have special Hatz diesel power packs. Other options include working lights, inclinometer and special military green paint.
The R130 however, is a standard machine with diesel, wired remote controls self-levelling outriggers military green paint.
The contract also includes training for the military staff who will operate and maintain the machines. Easy Lift is an approved supplier to NATO and of the MePA, the Italian Public Administration and its ‘Electronic Marketplace’ for online purchases. The company began selling units to the armed forces – mostly Army and Navy, two years ago, with an R130 for the Taranto Arsenal, in the heel of Italy, while in May it delivered a 26 metre RA26 spider lift to the Naval Station Command in Augusta, Sicily.
