Ireland's first crane with Liccon3

Irish rental company O’Carroll Haulage and Crane Hire has taken delivery of the first crane with Liebherr's new Liccon3 control system to arrive in the country, a 110 tonne LTM 1110-5.2 All Terrain.

The five axle crane features a seven section, 60 metre main boom, topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bifold swingaway extension that can be offset by up to 40 degrees. Two extra inserts can be added between boom nose and extension to provide a maximum tip height of 96 metres.

Director, Maurice O’Carroll said: “We are very proud to own the first Liccon 3 in Ireland and look forward to welcoming a second one later this year. These cranes are part of a four unit package, and so far this year we are very happy with Liebherr, as we have been over the years.”

“Liebherr is constantly innovating and is always focused on making its cranes as driver friendly as possible, which is a big plus along with the customer service and customer relations. The future is bright with O’Carroll Cranes and Liebherr.”

The crane is the first of a four unit order, the others, being another 110 tonne LTM 1110-5.2, and a 150 tonne five axle LTM 11150-5.3, plus a 100 tonne LTR 1100-2.1 telescopic crawler.

Based in Kildimo, just outside of Limerick, family run O’Carroll runs a fleet of All Terrain, truck, city type and spider cranes, topped by a 350 tonne Grove GMK6300L-1. It also operates a heavy haulage fleet.
