The company, which was registered in 1983, is owned by the O Leary family and was appointed as the official distributor for Liebherr tower cranes throughout Ireland in January. It has already appointed factory trained service engineers and acquired new support vehicles to assist with the technical backup.

Evans joins the company after 11 years with Kobelco having begun his crane career in 1995 with Demag/Terex cranes in the UK, leaving after 12 years to join Wolffkran Arabia as its managing director, based in Dubai. After three years in the post, he returned to the UK to rejoin Terex Cranes as a regional sales manager, leaving for Kobelco at the end of 2012.

Speaking of the move Evans said: “Liebherr tower cranes have a strong reputation for exceptional performance, durability, and of course reliability across the globe, and our objective is to ensure customer satisfaction through the provision of quality products and excellent service.”

The O Leary’s also own mobile crane rental company Crane Hire Ltd and can thus provide a full transport, crane erection and commissioning service, as well as inspection and supply of ancillary equipment.
